Allianz Trade joins the Trade Finance Distribution Initiative
September 26, 2023
Allianz Trade, the world’s leading trade credit insurer, has joined the Trade Finance Distribution Initiative (TFD Initiative) as a member.
The TFD Initiative has been establishing trade finance as an investable asset class for capital market firms. It brings together stakeholders committed to increasing the level of automation and transparency with a technology-based approach.
The TFD Initiative continues to expand its membership of elite trade finance businesses and will further its efforts of promoting the tech-backed originate-and-distribute model at its flagship event, the Trade Finance Investor Day, scheduled for the 19th and 20th October 2023 in the UK.
The Trade Finance Investor Day will bring together the TFDi community, as well as wider investors, to further improve the blueprint for trade finance distribution and the supporting originate-and-distribute model. This two-day event just outside London will also focus on market innovations, practices, and developments, and champion dealmaking through testimonials and case studies. A number of spokespeople will be making key speeches including François Burtin, Global Head of Group Transformation at Allianz Trade.
Sarah Murrow, CEO of Allianz Trade UK & Ireland, said: “We are pleased to partner with the TFDi and deepen our relationships with the trade finance community. We believe that insurance is paramount to closing the trade finance gap and to give thousands of companies – from SMEs to large corporations – peace of mind as they conduct business across country borders.”
André Casterman, CEO, TFD Initiative welcomes Allianz Trade to the TFDi community and as sponsor of the Investor Day: “The TFD Initiative community aims to scale the distribution space to close the trade finance gap. The role of credit insurers such as Allianz Trade is critical on this journey.
“We will demonstrate this during the Trade Finance Investor Day where various types of lenders will show how they partner with institutional investors and credit insurers to extend more liquidity to corporates and SMEs. I am delighted to welcome Allianz Trade as a sponsor of this inaugural edition of the Investor Day.”
